Glee fan survey
How do you define Glee? 2nd part

Okay, sorry again for the delay but today has been one of the few days in a long time I’ve had internet connection. And I’m finished with a part of the survey - characters. And the second part to how people define Glee.

Now, as I’ve seen a lot of posts about Darren Criss on my dash I’ve kinda realised that there are a lot of his fans out there and I’m so sorry I left him out in most questions. I didn’t think he was a regular that is the reason why he wasn’t in there not cause I don’t like him.

Anyway, here are the tops and comments about characters (I haven’t finished the couple shipping question yet but I thought I’d post these quickly before my internet connection is gone again). All of the comments are copy&pasted, so if there are spelling errors, don’t look at me :), incidentally please don’t get mad at me if I didn’t post your comment:

So, some people saw the show as a story about misfits/people/relatability:

“Glee is a musical tv show that deals with the reality of the life of the HS students in US.”

“It’s a TV show about our generation.”

“I think Glee is a show that has a little something that everyone can enjoy, and that opens up to important issues without making them overly dramatic or comedic like some other shows tend to do.”

“Comedic look at some serious subjects that effect teens today.”

“Fun, feel-good and a wonderful opportunity to reach out to teenagers about issues such as homophobia, etc.”“

“a show made to show and represent how the young people in our generation thinks and feels..”

“Awesome, the topics they talk about are most people’s problem but are too afraid to share it.”

“Glee is more than your average high school themed show. It’s not all about sex and parties. It’s about the charachers, being who you are, discovering yourself, and well I could go on forever. The music is just an added extra special (and magical)element to the show. There is nothing like Glee. It’s the REAL high school musical.”

“Awesome! A drama/comedy about a group of outsiders at a high school learning how to be themselves and be proud :)”

“It’s one of the most inspiring and well put together shows on television. It teaches lessons, it makes us laugh, it makes us cry. Sure, I can get disappointed in some of the covers but I like most of the music as well. The actors are phenomenal especially Chris Colfer, Harry Shum Jr., Max Alder, and Darren Criss. I just think it’s a brilliant show and it will always hold a very special place in my heart. It has given me friends, it has given me courage to be myself, it has given others a respect for the underdog.”

“Absolutely amazingly awesome and really easy to relate to”

“I am not quite sure what this question is asking, but GLEE IS MY LIFE!!! It brings out topics people dont discuss, it makes people aware of whats going on in the world some what for outcasts. Chris Colfer RULES”

“Glee is a musical comedy all about embracing your inner underdog and being proud of who you are”

“Musical Comedy/Drama Speaks to those who are considered “misfits” and lets them know it’s alright to be different.”“

In simple.. something special and unique which is relatable to all the underdogs out there :)”

“I define glee as a show that helps guide mis-fits through high school. The characters suffer what your average teenagers do during high school”

“Glee is about making people feel happy, even if the topics in it are serious”

“A show that shows stereotypical teenagers in an American high school and reveals them to be just like all of us. Each character embodies a certain characteristic.”

“A show that once was a salute to the underdog, but is now just as shallow as every other Hollywood product.”

“an enjoyable way to relive my high school years.”

“I define Glee as a television show that deals with real issues, both adults and teenagers can realte to no matter what gender, sexuality or religion you are.”

“I wouldn’t recommend it to the younger kids, but I would recommend it to older teenagers. It’s great to sing along to, fantastic to sit down and watch.”

“i think its a great show that not only introduces older songs to the newer generation, but it also is about breaking away from the norm and expressing who you really are and overcoming hardships, but with alot of drama to keep it entertaining :) its got a little bit of everything”

“a show that outcasts, misfits, anyone who feels they are not a part of something can relate to and feel special about.”

“It’s a show about bringing together different types of people and showing them that they are not alone and that as different as we may be, we’re still the same.”

“Glee is a show that has no single audience. Although mainly directed at teens, many others enjoy it. Younger teens, young adults, older adults. It has no boundary and that’s what the show itself is also. No boundary. It attacks issues that not many other shows dare to. it showcases talents and beauty that you can’t always find on another program.”

“Gle iss the TV show about kids in a high school, who define all the different stereotypes but all join a Glee club. It’s a show about conquering your obstacles, facing your problems and fears and being your best no matter what people say or think.”

“Very new. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a show with this amount of music.. And i love it!! who can’t relate to music ?”

“A show about showing that people are more than their stereotypes and the power of music in a person’s life.”

“a show about kids who have their own issues but come together in music.”

“I think it’s a show for all the nerds and geeks out there who are proud about it, and about who they are. It’s not often you can find a show that has such diverse characters you can almost find a little of yourself in each of them.”

“I would define Glee about a group of underdogs in high school who come together as a group to belong and also to be able to express themselves openly”

“Glee is a musical comedy that shows the diversity of different people in the world.”

“very fun and funny. And the music is the best part. And I Love Kevin McHale.”

“it is really funny. As a whole i really like it, i should say i actually love it. But sometimes i want to punch the writers in the face for the lack of continuity in the storylines and in the charactewrs development.”

“I think it’s the most amazing show out there, it has everything (unless continuity, I blame Ryan Murphy for that) but what’s good about this show it that, regardless, it makes me and other people happy.”

“Bringing back the true show-biz and starting dreams”

“It’s an amazing show. It incorporates comedy and serious issues nicely and the music is fantastic.”

“Glee has become a great escape from the usual tv crap they’re showing these days.”

“It lacks continuity, a lot of interesting plotlines are ignored without previous warning and things really happen too fast, but it’s very easy to relate with most of the characters and the insecurities they deal with. Consequently, it’s very easy to fall in love with them too, and with the show itself, despite all its flaws.”

“A clever comedy that deals with the ups and downs of the students and teachers of William McKinley High School. It centres around the Glee club which means there’s musical numbers. I think the show is fun and heartwarming.”

“The greatest thing to ever hit tv. The things that it achieves are amazing. It battles very strong issues that bring peoples attention to them. It’s just utterly amazing.”

“The best TV show I’ve ever watched and it really inspires a lot of people.”

“Something original and fills people with a range of emotions.”

“an uplifting musical comedy with tear filled drama and a big heart!”

“It makes me happy.”

“Glee makes me feel that I am not alone.”

“A fun comedy about a group of misfits with amazing talent”

“The fandom is crazy. Glee used to be amazing in so many ways but now it’s just a non-consistent, unrealistic show. Yet I love it. It’s my crack.”

“Not the best, but pretty damn fun and entertaining.”

“A show about a showquire”

“It’s VERY feel-good.. I love that after each episode I feel happy and just positive regardless of how serious the issue enlightened in the episode was.. The show is an eye-opener while at the same time it’s pure entertainment!”

“I define Glee as a show of diversity and acceptance.”

“It’s one of the best comedy’s that’s been on tv for ages. It has everything. Humor, drama, reality, everything.”

“It’s hard to define.”

“It’s a show that helps people open up and understand that it’s cool to just be yourself. There’s a part of everyone who is a “freak” so just love and own who you are and some day it will all get better.”

“An amazing show with a powerful message every episode.”

“I define it as a phenomenon. TV, has never seen something like this before. And it will definitely be sticking around for years to come.”

“Musical Comedy that has sold out and lost it’s original meaning”

“Glee is just amazing to watch, it cheers me up every single time and I don’t care what happens so much, because this is my favorite tv show and that will always be like that. I can relate to almost every single character in a way, and this show has helped me so much with my own life and dealing with it. It just means a lot to me.”

“KEVIN MCHALE!”

“Glee, by it’s very definition, is about opening yourself up to joy. I believe that’s what it’s all about. It fills the audience with joy and laughter, but also feeling.”

“it’s amazing, it’s not like other shows, people might call me obsessed, but the characters are relatable, they don’t all look they were made on a computer and for once there not popular hollywood perfect kids without any problems but staying at the top of the popularity radar, but they actually face the problems that the majority of people do have, it shows you that it’s ok to be yourself no matter what other people think of you, and just to top it all off i love the music. if i was to define it in one word it would be unique or relatable.”

“It is not only entertainment but it is also a good way to inform people; and get people on Tumblr to fap over everything.”

“Be a part of something especial makes you special. glee teached me that I can be whoever I want. Glee teached me that when you fight for something you deserve. Glee showed me that I don’t need look like the others do.”

“A fantastic, comical portrayal of high school and the musicality that we all wish occurred in it.”

“Fluffy with the occasional lesson to be learned. A mass phenomenon.”

“glee is all about being yourself. It’s important to be who you are, be different, do whatever you want. Everything you do is alright if you do it with all your heart. This is why, for me, glee is more than just a TV show.”

“It’s an amazing show that I would say appeals to everyone.”

“A fantastic musical comedy filled with heart. It transcends what people usually define a TV show as being. It is not just an entertaining show, but the emotion makes it change lives. The characters allow people to make a connection that is not seen very often in mainstream media.”

“A show for the dreamer in all of us.”

“Optimistic, fun-loving… you take some things with a pinch of salt. But most of all, great music.”

“My definition of gLee is this: acceptance. The show values it in all aspects—from baby making, success, appearance, beliefs. Everything. The show has taught me to accept myself and I feel that if everyone can get at least half of an amazing feeling as I do, then the show is a success.”

“Season 2? It is the most pathetic excuse for a highschool dramatic-comedy. I still don’t know why I still watch. Season 1 was awesome though.”

Woah, this is quite a long post so I’ll post the characters in another entry.
